Join BlackRock’s Regulatory Operations team in Gurgaon as an Analyst Python Developer. This role is perfect for candidates with 1-4 years of experience who are passionate about working in a dynamic environment. As part of our team, you will design and implement automated controls for major G20 regulations using Python and SQL.

Team Overview

BlackRock’s Regulatory Operations team within Technology and Operations is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting a significant proportion of BlackRock’s regulatory reporting obligations. Team members work with business units across the firm and externally to create scalable and accurate reporting solutions that meet regulatory requirements, satisfy internal audit standards, and ensure complete and precise reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Implement automated controls for major G20 regulations like EMIR, MIFIR, and SFTR using Python and SQL
  • Adhere to a full development lifecycle
  • Guide fellow developers in the team
  • Help formalize the build, release, and deployment process of Python applications

Qualifications

  • Strong grasp of Python, ideally in a financial environment
  • Ability to code in an object-oriented manner
  • Experience in unit and end-to-end testing of Python
  • Proficiency with code repositories (such as Azure) and GIT
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience in analyzing large data sets
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to work closely with business users to capture requirements
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt and learn from other technology teams

Preferred Skills

  • 1-4 years of prior experience
  • Experience building controls and accuracy checks in any software environment
  • Ability to navigate large and complex database models
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • Passion for learning and deploying solutions in AI/GenAI
  • Knowledge of asset management regulations (e.g., EMIR, SFTR, MIFIR) and related financial instruments
  • Experience with regulatory costs and periodic filings (e.g., AIFMD, ADV, KIIDS)
  • Snowflake experience is a plus
