About the Job:

As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will work on designing, developing, and deploying next-generation consumer hardware. You will be part of Google's Consumer Hardware Silicon division, focusing on building chips like SoCs and ASICs optimized for Google devices. You will engage in creative problem-solving and participate in designing, analyzing, and prototyping new concepts. This role involves collaborating with both local and remote teams to automate design flows and ensure optimal performance and power efficiency of chips.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with design concepts and computer hardware architecture
  • Relevant internship work, work experience, or personal project experience in Hardware or Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the internship
  • Experience in SoC/ASIC design, design verification, physical design, or design for testability
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PERL, TCL, or Python
  • Experience with Verilog/HDL or System Verilog coding
  • Experience with EDA tools and methodologies like Lint, CDC, synthesis, formal equivalence, or low power reduction techniques

Responsibilities:

  • Develop power and performance-optimized chips
  • Contribute to the design, verification, and silicon implementation of chips
